Energy Today kicks off a three-part series here at THB focused on the energy intensity of the U.S. economy. Energy intensity is a key factor of the Kaya Identity and one of the only levers available to accelerate the decarbonization of the economy. One of the key takeaways from the data reviewed in this series is that the U.S. economy has been decarbonizing for more than a half-century, independent of efforts to accelerate the rate of decarbonization.
